Shooter: A Woman’s Journey in Combat from Behind a Camera
Stacy Pearsall will share stunning images and recount some of the most dramatic and compelling moments behind making them. Each image will be accompanied by a personal anecdote, which outlines the circumstances surrounding the picture, why she took it, how she captured it, and what it meant to her.
Stacy Pearsall is the most decorated female war photographer of our time. During her twelve years as a military photographer, she traveled to over 41 countries, took over 500,000 photos, and endured over 24 medical procedures to repair combat wounds sustained in battle. Her three tours in Iraq earned her the Bronze Star Medal and Commendation with Valor for heroic actions under fire. Needless to say, what you think of as a hostile work environment, Pearsall thought was an average day at work.
