Give It Your Best Shot is both a juried show (with awards) and “just” a show, giving participants an opportunity to present their work to the public. You are invited to enter a maximum of two prints, which will be hung in our huge display space in the East Hall of the Convention Center. We’re talking about a lot of prints; every year we receive around two hundred entries. It makes for a beautiful and interesting show! The symposium presenters choose their two favorite prints, the Speaker’s Choice and Merit Awards. Participants also vote for their favorite print, the People’s Choice Award. We’ll end Saturday afternoon with the awards presentation in the West Hall. Then we’ll move over to the East Hall for our big Give It Your Best Shot Reception to send the event out with a bang on Saturday evening. Entry Details:

RANGE sponsors this contest, which could launch your career and lead to fame and fortune (you just need to redefine fame and fortune). Winners are announced and shown at Shooting the West, and published in RANGE magazine. Winning images are often subsequently used in the Real Buckaroo Calendar, to illustrate feature articles in RANGE magazine, and for advertising future contests. This is a great opportunity to get your images into the public eye, and learn about the intricacies of the publishing market.
Deadline for submission is February 10, 2012. Detailed entry forms are included in the Winter issue of RANGE magazine or download the Online Entry Form (pdf). Contest Rules: All rules must be followed and a completed, signed entry form submitted. One photographer per packet and maximum 5 images per person. Entry Fee: $5.00 per image. Content: All photos must be of the people, places and critters of America’s rangelands. Color or black & white. Amateur or professional. Entries must be submitted digitally either on CD/DVD disc or USB thumb drive. Media will NOT be returned but will be secured at RANGE offices or destroyed. Technical Guidelines:
Permission: Contestants must grant RANGE magazine permission to use entries for possible use in magazines and calendars, and for other contest publicity.
